Word Warrior of the Week and Other Adventures
First of all, congratulations to our Word Warrior of the Week, Best 2-Tweet Fight, Leslie! Hit her up on twitter and let her know that she’s awesome. Leslie is inching closer and closer to Silver Pen (over 13k on NaNo!), and I’m so excited to see what she comes up with next. Here’s her hilarious submission again:
As he opened his mouth, a string of excuses probably ready to go, she opened hers as well. And then she puked all over his shoes.
That’s one way to win an argument, she thought.
Next week’s Word Warrior contest will be Best Kiss. Follow #TheMightyPens on twitter as we sprint from 3pm-5pm Eastern on November 17 to participate!
Secondly, the first prize window is still open until 8am Eastern November 12 for those who have raised more than $50 for Malala Fund! There’s been some confusion, so be sure that you’ve read the FAQ, but also…
- You can claim ONE fundraising prize each prize window. So if you choose a prize now, you can still get two more, one on November 20th and one on November 30th!
- You can choose that prize from ANY of the tiers you’ve reached.
There are still lots of cool prizes left, so check it out, Fam!
And finally, because I’m still so flabbergasted (in a good way) by the monumental accomplishments we’ve reached as a team so far, just gotta do another amazed redux of where we’re at–just a third of the way into NaNoWriMo:
- 15 Bronze Pens (>10k)
- 20 Silver Pens (>15k)
- 7 Gold Pens (>25k)
- 943,925 Words as a team
- $7,619 raised (more than 3/4 of our goal! IN 1/3 THE TIME)
Which by the way, just looking at those numbers, y’all know you can collect your writing prizes at anytime, right? I know I haven’t sent that many Gold Pen emails yet 😉
I am having such an amazing time. I am itching to join the Silver Pen ranks (stupid Master’s course, making me do homework or whatever), and so, so enthused every time I see y’all reach another milestone. Y’all are so wonderfully encouraging of everyone. It’s really great to see us all working together for so much good. Keep it up! And as always, don’t be afraid to ask any questions of Sooz or I.
Love ya, fam.
