Our participants keep rocking their way to Silver Pen, with the most recent being Rochelle and her NaNo project, Sonder and Other Casualties of Fame. Be sure to congratulate her on this awesome achievement, and read a bit from her book below!
Sonder and Other Casualties of Fame
When a group of online friends is given the chance to meet IRL, the burdens of both fame and anonymity make them decide if their relationships are worth jeopardizing the anonymity they’ve curated.
Some unsolicited advice from Present!Me to Future!Me:
Stop. Clicking. Articles. About. Yourself.
You read one tiny little article speculating about what happened to make your band break up so soon after breaking out, and your phone is like, “So you like Zoe Sorento? Let me make sure you see every hot take on every little aspect of her life possible.”
And then you shouldn’t click. You really shouldn’t, but you do because you got curiosity instead of self-control when God was handing out personality traits, and now your phone is even more certain that you care a ton about what happens to Zoe Sorento.
Okay, fine. I do care a lot about what happens to Zoe Sorento. But I care a little bit less what everyone else thinks is happening to me.
So far, theories about my band’s sudden breakup include:
– My brother and my drummer eloping (which, ew. She’s still 17 and my brother has a girlfriend.)
So happy you’re part of the team, Rochelle! Keep it up 🙂
