Oceanside
Told in dual-POV, Oceanside is the story of two teenage girls–one in 1986 and the other in 2018–as they each struggle to thrive in the aftermath of trauma and seek to move past the dark secret binding them together.

He took a sip of his drink. “I haven’t been up here in…” He paused, thinking. “Five years now, I suppose. It’s been two since I’ve seen Sophia, though.”
“Are you here on business?” Therese asked, her curiosity getting the better of her.
“No. I came for her.”
Therese frowned. “You came just to see her?”
“Is that hard to believe?”
“No.” Therese sucked on her teeth, annoyed. “It’s just, most people would call before they visit. Are you staying at the motel?”
“I’m not visiting.” He stared at her, his eyebrows pulling closer together. Therese felt like she was missing something important. “I’m back. I came back for her.”
Therese put down her glass before she dropped it. Her face felt unbearably hot. “You’re her ex-husband.”
“Oh.” He released a small huff of laughter that smelled like cigarettes. “Didn’t I say?”
Therese slowly shook her head.
“Well.” He stopped there.
“And how does she feel about this?” Therese asked, looking anywhere but at him. His face was so normal. She expected him to appear more dangerous. More wild.
So grateful to have you as part of the Mighty Pens fam, Amy! Awesome job 😀
