MIGHTY PEN: Leslie A
The end of NaNoWriMo is nigh! I hope everyone is killing their wordcount goals and winning NaNo, just like Leslie–one of our awesome sprint leaders! CONGRATULATIONS, LESLIE!! You can review a snippet from her project, Guardian of the Earth, and also check out a short interview with her below. So glad you made it, Leslie! Looks like you’ve got a bit more to go on this project, but I guess that’s part of the fun, eh?
Interview with a Mighty Pen: Leslie
What’s one thing that changed in your expectations for your project from November 1 to now?
The amount of story I would get done by reaching 50k. Im still only a third of the way through my outline, so there’s a lot of words still left to write.
What moment in NaNoWriMo18 stands out the most to you?
My first sprint with The Mighty Pens I was so nervous and thought I would somehow manage to screw it up! But once the words started flowing and other Mighty Pens sprinters were working (virtually) along side me, it was a ton of fun.
What’s something you’ve learned, or that you’re proud of, from this year’s NaNo?
I changed my POV to first person which I’ve never done on this scale before. It was such a different experience and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.
Any advice for yourself or others for next year’s NaNo, if you’re able to participate again?
Avoid the backspace key, start with a plan, and stock up on tea.
Avoid the backspace key?! Impossible 😉 (But actually quite good advice.) Congrats again, Leslie. Way to win!
