First week of NaNo: done!!

Y’all, it has been a good week for me. I can hardly believe how well everything is going, to be honest. I just passed 10,000 words on my project (which means I get to bother my sponsors for more donations), have already somehow surpassed my fundraising goals (I have a lot of amazing friends), and we are on track to hit The Mighty Pens 2020 overall fundraising goal.

Which–speaking of fundraising, your first chance to snag a fundraising prize is coming up on Tuesday at Noon eastern! If you haven’t checked out the list already, head over and see! A few more have been added in the last week. Depending on the prize, they can go fast, so be sure to have a couple in mind as back up too. 

If you’re confused how the process works, here’s more information that will hopefully clarify!

Claiming Fundraising Prizes

• You can only claim ONE prize on Tuesday.
• You can choose the prize from any of the “tiers” you’ve reached. Example, if you’ve raised $260, you can choose that single prize from the $50, $100, or $250 tiers. You do not get one prize from each tier.
• Update your fundraising total on the spreadsheet by using the “edit your responses” link your received when you joined the Mighty Pens. Be sure to add the $10 from your NaNo donation.
• Also, make sure you’ve donated to NaNo and sent proof of your receipt to themightypens 2020 @ gmail . com or themightypens 2017 @ gmail . com. (They go to the same place.)
• You will be able to pick your prize anytime within 48 hours, from noon on the 10th to noon on the 11th (again, eastern time). Which means if you’re $20 from hitting the next prize tier, that’s a good time to crank out a few more words and bother your sponsors.
• The button to pick your prize will appear on this page at noon, eastern, on the 10th.
• Once your claim goes through (it works kind-of like an internet shopping cart), one of our amazing volunteers will contact you to confirm your prize and get your shipping information (as applicable)!
• If you don’t pick a prize on the 10th, or if you are still gathering donations: don’t worry! The next prize gate opens on the 20th, same time, same place.
