For those of us who are fortunate to live in a part of the world where the seasons change, October is a wonderful time of year. The weather is neither too hot nor too cold, the breezes are gentle, and softly falling leaves provide the perfect backdrop.
Autumn is a season of change and of preparation for the harvest, winter and the holiday season. It’s no coincidence that it’s also become known as #Preptober for writers looking forward to National Novel Writing Month in November.
Here at the Mighty Pens, we’re hosting plenty of events throughout this lovely Preptober season to ensure that the more we write, the more we raise next month! From sprints to brainstorming sessions, the Mighty Pens have you covered!
With so much happening, however, it can seem overwhelming, and NaNo’s relentless pace can lead to burnout. How does one stay motivated for the next few weeks, especially with the beautiful weather outside and Halloween and Thanksgiving temptations?
For this Motivation Monday, the Mighty Pens encourage you to settle into a cozy, comfortable spot with your favorite fall beverage (tea, pumpkin spice coffee, hot chocolate, cider, all are delicious!) and reflect on how far you’ve come. Here’s a list of
self-care suggestions for writers that might help you take care of yourself the way you’re taking care of others and your words. You’ve made the decision to write 50,000 words in November. You’re going to raise money for
WeForest. We’re so proud of you and happy to have you join us.
As you prepare for NaNo, take time and space to enjoy the fall season as well!
